TWJA demands legal action against doctor of K.M. Hospital

Tripura Working Journalists’ Association has expressed worry about the incidents of attack on working journalists and photo journalists at the time of collection of news. In a statement Joint Secretary of TWJA stated that In-charge of Kanika Memorial Hospital of Unakoti District Dr. Satyajit Dutta misbehaved with Kailashahar Divisional Secretary of TWJA Sukanta Chakraborty and Unakoti District Secretary Debasish Dutta and prevented them to collect news when they went to collect information from the hospital. Even the In-charge Dr. Dutta snatched camera of the journalists and driven them out from the hospital room by using slang language.
The State Committee of TWJA, Unakoti District Committee and Kailashahar Divisional Committee has strongly condemned the unexpected incident and filed complain against the doctor at Kailashahar Police Station. The association has express worry as police has not arrested the accused person till today. TWJA has attracted attention of higher officials of police to take necessary legal action and arrest the person immediately. Otherwise the association will be bound stage greater agitation. TWJA also demanded to ensure security of journalists.
