State Chessboxing Asso felicitates medal winners

6 Chessboxing players of Tripura got grand reception today at Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel after their arrival from the first ever World Chessboxing tournament held at Kolkata. In that tournament playing in the national squad 6 players got huge success as they won 6 medals which include 3 gold medals. On behalf of Tripura Chessboxing association these 6 players along with Coach Amit Podder has been felicitated.
In the ceremony Sujit Roy, secretary of Tripura Olympic association, Narayan Banik, president of Tripura Chessboxing association and Debabrata Saha, vice president of the association remained present. All the dignitaries just delighted about the performance off the players and also advised them to continue these form for the upcoming events also. In the coming days these players will get a grand felicitation ceremony at Udaipur.
Sujit Roy believed that Tripura Chessboxers put Tripura in a special place in the world map and also promised to be there with the team in the coming days also. In the 6 nation event 6 players from Tripura took part where in Sub Junior 60 kg section Sunita Sarkar, 65 kg section Simantini Das and in Junior 58 kg section Biplab Goswami won gold medal each. While in Junior 43 kg section Pritam Chakraborty and 55 kg section Tanmoy Debbarma won silver.
While in 46 kg section Sujit Das won bronze medal. Coach Amit Podder also very much delighted on the success as he said that the players got their desired result as they did so much hard work to achieve this feat. He also said that in the second week of June, 2nd State level state chessboxing tournament will take place and after some gap the players will start practice. Notably prominent sports journalist of the state Kiriti Dutta guided the players in the Chess.
